Menu

Our recipes are inspired by the essence of chai culture; where connection, warmth, and flavor meet. Each dish at Cafe Bethak is a modern expression of the traditions we grew up with, reimagined for today’s palate.

At Cafe Bethak, we honor this timeless tradition by creating a space where you can enjoy a perfect cup of chai, just the way it’s meant to be; strong, flavorful, and steeped in love. From family recipes passed down through generations to creative fusions crafted in-house, everything we serve is made fresh, using real ingredients and a whole lot of heart.

Because good food isn’t just meant to fill you, it’s meant to bring you together.

Our Story

Cafe Bethak started as a one-day pop-up in October 2023, created by two founders who saw a gap in the Chicago market for spaces that truly bring people together.

What began as a simple idea turned into a phenomenon: lines out the door, over 300 drinks served, and a community that showed up with incredible energy. That one day proved something powerful people were craving connection, creativity, and something real.

Today, Cafe Bethak has grown into more than a cafe. It’s a community hub; from hosting high teas and private events to taking our signature live carts across the city. What started as a pop-up has become a true Chicago staple.

The smash burger paratha was absolutely delicious and perfectly done! The doodh pati and Kashmiri chai were amazing too. Definitely coming back again!

We ended up trying so much from the menu. The bun kababs were delicious, pani puri and dahi puri were bursting with flavor, and the club and salad sandwiches totally stole the show. Chai was just perfect, but the highlight of the night was definitely the sohan halwa(it was gone before i could take the pictures). From the vibe to the food and service, everything was spot on !! Such a memorable experience!
